Sydney: In a spectacular showcase of cricketing prowess, the Sydney Kangaroos emerged triumphant as the new champions of the Aussie Cricket League U19 2024.

Kangaroos beaten Afghanistan Eagles by a commanding 9-wicket margin. Opting to bat first after winning the toss in the Grand Final, the Afghanistan Eagles struggled to find their footing against the relentless bowling attack of the Kangaroos.

Despite a valiant effort from Jack Smith, who delivered yet another outstanding innings with 70 runs off 59 balls, supported by Rayyan Naik’s contribution of 16 runs, the Eagles were bowled out for 130 runs in 19.1 overs. Legan Sandhu, Bayly Stawiarz, and Tanishk Chetan starred with the ball, each claiming 2 wickets to dismantle the Eagles’ batting lineup.

Chasing a target of 131 runs for victory, the Kangaroos exhibited flawless batting prowess as they reached their target in just 15.1 overs with the loss of only 1 wicket. It was a comprehensive display of dominance from the Kangaroos, who asserted their superiority with both bat and ball to seal the championship title.

In recognition of his outstanding performances throughout the tournament, Afghanistan’s Jack Smith was awarded the title of the best batter, amassing a total of 245 runs. Meanwhile, Kiwi’s Garry was honored as the best bowler of the event, claiming a total of 9 wickets.

With this resounding victory, the Sydney Kangaroos etched their name in ACL U19 history, marking their triumph as a testament to their skill, teamwork, and determination.
