Bagh Stallions race pass overseas Warriors on D/L to earn valuable points

MUZAFFARABAD: In the all important game of the Kingdom Valley Kashmir Premier League (KPL), season two, the rain-hit encounter fetched two important points, over the D/L method, to Bagh Stallions against Overseas Warriors.

After winning the coin-toss in their last group match, Overseas Warriors were invited to bat first, by Bagh Stallions.

Warriors stared off cautiously however lost the first man, Muhammad Shehzad (10), on the team-score of 26 in 3.5 overs.

Asad Shafiq followed after scoring 20, and Ali Majid picked up his third man on the next ball (Saif Badar). Warriors sedately reach 33/3 in the power-play.

In the 10th over, Warriors stepped up on the gas and hit a few big shorts, racing down to 59/3 after half of their innings, that included five boundaries & a six.

Azam Khan soon perished (17) and Kamran Ghulam, too, took a walk back after amassing 24-ball 32, decorated with two fours and as many sixes.

Overseas crawled to the hundred-run mark in 16.2 overs and then bundled out on 127 runs under the 20th over, with nine fours and four maximum in the innings.

In reply, Bagh Stallions got a blow on the very first ball as Kamran Akmal was bowled by Sohail Khan.

After nine over, Bagh Stallions scored 70 runs for the loss of three wickets. The rain, then, came down to wash away the rest of the game. The D/L par score was 55, at the juncture, therefore Stallions were declared winner by seven wickets.

The triumph gave away two valuable points to Stallions, consolidating their spot on the table with seven points.

Ali Majid was declared player of the match for his splendid bowling performance.
