Grass Skiing Sports comes to end in AJK

MUZAFFARABAD: The 2nd National Championship of Grass Skiing, who was held AJK Winter Sports Association, concluded on the outskirts of Rawalakot city of Azad Jammu Kashmir.

Games organized at Toli Peer who is some 30 kilometers away from Rawalakot, the district headquarters of Poonch, at an altitude of 9,000 feet.

Secretary general of AJK Winter Sports Association Aqeel Khurshid  said training camp of grass skiing was organized in the first four days of the official national event, which was started from September 25 to 1st October.

From overall Pakistan including Azad Kashmir total 72 athletes, including 24 females participated.

Grass skiing is a new sport, is similar to snow skiing in techniques with just a difference that it is done on grass.

According to experts in Pakistan, this sport is gaining popularity and participation of more than double athletes in the second national championship compared to the first one.
