SYDNEY: Kiwi Warriors clinch victory as Pakistan falters in rain effected thriller.
In a tightly contested match, Kiwi Warriors emerged triumphant against Pakistan, securing a 15-run win in a shortened encounter due to rain interruptions. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, the Warriors faced a slow start but rallied in the final over to set a challenging target of 85 runs for the Pakistani Sultans.
Alex Mcaslam’s explosive innings of 21 runs off 12 balls, supported by Ryan Swain’s contribution of 18, propelled the Warriors to a competitive total.

Pakistan’s chase got off to a shaky start, losing wickets early on and failing to build partnerships. Despite a valiant effort, with Rehan Farooq leading the bowling attack with two crucial wickets, Pakistan fell short of the target, bowled out for just 69 runs. Kiwi Warriors’ disciplined performance with both bat and ball ultimately secured them the victory.
In contrast, in their previous outing, Pakistani Sultans displayed their prowess by defeating the Sydney Mavericks by 7 wickets. Chasing a target of 125 runs, Junaid Mir showcased his batting skills with a composed innings of 57 runs, ably supported by Captain Afzaal Sadiq and Muhammad Tallah, ensuring a comfortable victory for Pakistan.
This win marked Pakistan’s second triumph in the tournament, highlighting their potential for success in the upcoming matches.
