KABUL: Afghanistan Cricket Board’s Selection Committee today named a 15-member National squad for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, which will be played from October 5 to November 19 in India.
Right arm Medium Fast bowler Naveen ul haq is back after injury to accompany Abdul Rahman and Fazalhaq Farooqi in fast bowling department. Fast bowler Farid Malik is kept in reserve list while Salim Safi and Wafadar Momand are left out from the main squad.
Azmatullah Omarzai, a seam-Bowling All-rounder, is also back from his injury. Gulbadin Naib and slow left-arm orthodox Sharfuddin Ashraf are kept in the reserve list while Karim Janat has not made it to the main squad.
Left-arm wrist spinner Noor Ahmad will also accompany our spin department along with Rashid Khan Mujeeb Rahman and Mohammad Nabi.

Hashmatullah Shahidi (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Ikram Alikhil (WK), Ibrahim Zadran, Riaz Hassan, Rahmat Shah, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omerzai, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Noor Ahmad, Abdul Rahman, Naveenulhaq and Fazal Haq Farooqi.
Reserve Players: Gulbadin Naib, Sharafuddin Ashraf and Farid Ahmad Malik
Afghanistan National Team will leave to India at the end of this month. They will play their two warm up matches against South Africa and Sri Lanka on 29 th of September and 3 rd of October respectively before playing their first official match against Bangladesh on 7 th of October at HPCA Cricket Stadium, Dharamshala, India.
